Eyebrows
|
|
Diane is known by her clients to be the
'queen of eyebrows.' Diane believes that eyebrows frame a woman's face and
that they are where the expression of a face is seen most (e.g. sad, happy,
confused, excited, curious). Many women have little to no hair in the
eyebrow area. Diane is an expert in creating the contour, color and style for
each individual woman. In some cases, a brow lift is needed because they
are too close to the upper lid. This procedure can be accomplished
by surgery, which can cost thousands of dollars or for just several hundred dollars Diane can give the
same outcome to a woman's appearance.

Eyeliner
|
|
Eyeliner is the most commonly sought
after procedure in permanent makeup. The convenience of no longer
smearing pencil or sweating it off is what women want most. If you are a contact
wearer, this is an ideal way to avoid runny, smudgy liner from the contact
solution. It is also great for those that cannot apply pencil evenly due
to loss of a steady hand, visual impairment or lack of time and patience to do
so. With permanent liner and Diane's expertise, eyes can be made to
look closer together or further apart depending on the woman's symmetry.
Some women just want a lash enhancement that gives the effect of mascara
without a defined 'line' on the upper or lower eyelash area.

Lips (Lip Liner, Full Lips)
|
|
No more leaving lipstick on your
significant other's face, a beverage glass, or pillowcase and say goodbye
to bleeding lipstick - What a freedom! The makeover
with having Diane do your lips is acquiring the appearance of having
larger lips or replacing the old vermilion line and color that is often
lost with age. Often women think that having permanent lipstick
means that no other color can be worn. This is untrue and in fact
any color can be applied over the lips. One other benefit from
having your lips permanently done is the increased contrast between the lip
color and your teeth - They look so much whiter!

Pre-Procedure:
 |
Caffeine, alcohol, and aspirin should be avoided
prior to any permanent makeup procedure
|
 |
Menstruation makes many women
hyper-sensitive so it is recommended to schedule your appointment at a
different time in your cycle.
|
 |
If you have a history of cold sores and
would like to get a lip procedure, Zovarix (prescription), Valtrex
(prescription), or L-Lysine
(over-the-counter) should be taken three to four days prior to your
appointment

Process:
|
|
Upon arrival, Diane's clients are first
photographed then given a thorough consultation discussing her/his eyebrows,
eyeliner and/or lips. Diane pencils each of these on her
client's face and then shows her/him the color(s) she will use to implant
the pigment.
Between the drawing and the color approval, Diane's clients become directly
involved with what the results will look like. This is a
great comfort for apprehensive people!
Once Diane receives the client's
consent, she is prepared to start the procedure(s) - often clients come in
for two or more at one time. Diane begins with the primary
anesthetic; while numbing, her client fills out a waiver which also has
questions that apply to her/his history.
After the treatment area becomes numb, Diane uses a coil or
rotary pen (depending on the job) and opens the skin lightly. The
secondary anesthetic is then applied to further numb the area. Each needle is packaged
and disposable for one-time use only and Diane adheres to strict sanitation and
sterilization protocols throughout the entire process.
Each procedure takes anywhere from one
to two hours. Diane's clients are lying down for most of the
procedure but towards the end she/he is asked to sit up so Diane can check
the developments and make absolutely sure communication between
artist and client is 100% understood. Any adjustments that need to
be done are made then (e.g. longer eyebrow tails, bigger lips, thicker
eyeliner).
"Less is more in this industry," says Diane.
Diane works towards 'more' with the
client's approval. All of her clients really appreciate being a part
of the creative process - No surprises! Once completed, Diane gives
the client a sealant with an antiseptic in it to keep the area clean. The
last thing to do is have the "after" picture taken.

Post-Procedure:
|
|
First and foremost, be patient!
Eyebrows usually stay dark for five to six days then soften to the desired
look. Lips usually stay dark for seven to eight days then fade
substantially - The color will return to the desired look within three to
six weeks. Take a look at Lauren below (immediately after the
procedure) and notice how bright her lips are, how dramatic her liner and
brows are and then notice the softening and natural look just one month
later. It's amazing how beautiful the transformation is!

For one week, the pigmented area will need
to be kept clean and moist by applying an antiseptic sealant,
provided by Diane, throughout the day. No makeup should be applied to
the area until it is healed. Showering is recommended; however bathing,
swimming, and steam should be avoided for a week. The area may be tender
for a few days but that will subside as the healing process continues.
A cold, wet Lipton tea bag, ice pack or bag of frozen peas placed on the
area is not only soothing but will also help to reduce swelling. Once
the area scabs, do not pick or scratch - This will result in loss of
pigmentation.
Color and shape can be adjusted after the healing process is over - Two
weeks for eyeliner and eyebrows and five weeks for lips.
